Milkshake is a creative agency that’s all about the fluff.
You know, those extra things that make your brand absolutely indelible. The icing on the cake. The cherry on top.
We wear some pretty nerdy glasses. (In fact, our name comes from a Harvard professor’s study on Mcdonald’s milkshake sales!)
In our world, marketing and creative are viewed with a methodological, evidence-based lens.
Unsurprisingly founded by a scientist, Milkshake is obsessed with the psychological power of brand and its human connections.
We stand as the antithesis to ‘sans serif’ agencies by embracing a unique, scientifically driven approach and creating solutions for all budgets.

"We have a super-secret proprietary system!" (It's probably just a fancy name for a spreadsheet)

Sigh Let's try something different, shall we?
Introductions first! I'm Sam, the firebrand behind Milkshake. I lead our delightful collective of talented graphic designers, font designers, web designers, copywriters, and performance specialists.
But let's rewind a bit... I have always loved writing and the power of words. My high school English teacher still uses my A++ Romeo and Juliet essay as a sample of excellent work all these years later (#flex. Thank you, Mr Jewell!). I went on to study a science degree but best efforts aside, was drawn back into the world of words.
I've come a way since Shakespeare, having had the pleasure of writing words and crafting campaigns for many businesses ranging from industry giants to small startups across diverse industries. A scientist first, marketer by accident, I've long been fascinated by the behavioural basis of our interactions with brands. I use that endless curiosity to bring a unique perspective to the creative industry.
Throughout my career spanning multiple facets of marketing, I became frustrated with the practices of many agencies. I felt like many marketing teams were simply going through the motions, with a distinct lack of evidence-based reasoning behind decisions. Specifically, those rigid, conventional operators promising the sky then creating uninspired, cookie-cutter work for a pretty penny. Sadly in this unregulated industry, these types of businesses are rife. They also fail to provide accessible options for smaller businesses.
Created as the antithesis to what I've dubbed as 'sans serif' agencies (read: boring, garden variety, spiritless), Milkshake is redefining what a creative agency can be.
We're a fresh alternative that embodies my personal values of authenticity, honesty and transparency. So, you can expect Milkshake to tell it like it is and always walk the walk.
We’re less of an ‘agency’ and more of a ‘collective’, bringing together very clever creatives who are as delightful to work with as they are talented. By partnering with these brilliant people, we ensure every project receives the exceptional attention to detail and creativity it deserves.
We also don’t forget the little guy. We are firm in our belief that every business should have access to quality marketing solutions, regardless of their size or budget. Why? Because often it’s the littlest businesses who have the biggest heart. Our Self Serve offerings are designed to make accessible marketing solutions available to businesses with limited budgets looking for agency-quality work.
Branding has the power to create emotional connections and loyalty that transcend the physical product or service. It's as much a science as it is an art, which is why we apply a scientific approach to our creative process, allowing us to craft brands and stories that truly resonate with your target audience.
